A warm fridge and a silent compressor usually means one of two things. On this Lake View call it turned out to be both at once.
KitchenAid refrigerator model KRMF706ESS01. The following symptoms of the malfunction are present: both parts, the freezer and the food compartment, are warm. The light inside is on, the sound of the compressor is not heard. Diagnostics showed that the refrigerator had been previously repaired, the access valves were soldered. In the place where the access valve is soldered on the low-pressure line, a leak was found due to a poor-quality weld. Further diagnostics showed no power supply to the compressor at the inverter board output.
As a result, two malfunctions were found: Freon leak and a faulty inverter board with part number W11087200.
The repair was carried out on the same day. The leaking part was unsoldered and a new access valve was installed. The system was vacuumed, pressure tested with nitrogen and filled with correct amount of r134a refrigerant. A new inverter board was installed. After the repair, the refrigerator works as expected.
